If you're looking to recommend products based on height and weight but find the advanced recommender setup too complex, the Generic Recommender with a height and weight table is the perfect solution. This method involves creating a cross-table layout block and setting up the Generic Recommender to match your specifications. Additionally, you can style the table with different colors for each size.
Part 1: Creating the Cross Table Layout Block
- Start by creating a new sizing chart. Alternatively, you can add a layout block to an existing chart, but for this guide, we'll start from scratch.
- Next, we want to set the height in the column and the weight in the row. We can also specify the minimal values of these cells. The table should look something like this:
- To enhance the visual appeal, you can customize the table with different backgrounds and text colors for each size. Scroll down and you will find this:

Part 2: Deploying the Recommender
With the table set up, it's time to deploy the recommender. You can do this in the same layout or in the recommender tab. For simplicity, we'll leave it in the default setting.
- Go back to the size chart editor.
- Click "Start setting up the recommender."
- Choose "Simple Generic Table Apparel Recommender." You will notice that the recommender is already created based on the size table. So this is just click-click-finish fashion:
- In the Settings tab, you can turn off the global help text and add anything in the help area:
- Click the "Create" button and that’s it - your recommender is deployed!
